In 2024, six AEB mentors supported children in the "Fit for Five" program during their transition to secondary school – with heart, time, and impact.

In 2024, KinderHelden's online support program "Fit for Five" brought together six dedicated mentors from AEB and children to successfully master the transition from elementary school to secondary school. The focus was on promoting reading, but also on important topics such as learning methods, self-organization, self-motivation, and strengthening the children's self-confidence.
The program was made possible as part of a close collaboration between KinderHelden and AEB, with the time spent on mentoring being counted as working time. This generous support and the high motivation of the mentors have made a big difference in the lives of many children.
The next year of the program started in January 2025, giving mentors the opportunity to pass on their experience, continue their commitment and thus effectively help children from educationally disadvantaged families with one hour per week.
The "Fit for Five" program is an excellent example of how KinderHelden works together with many committed individuals and partners to support disadvantaged children on their educational path and give them a good start to secondary school.
