"Providing support in a tangible way and seeing first-hand how much good the foundation does – that's simply a wonderful feeling."
I joined the AEB marketing team in April 2019 and found out that AEB has had a foundation for two years. I was immediately captivated by this great idea of providing support. So I quickly became part of the AEB-Stiftung's communication working group.
I also provided practical support with the organization and running of the KinderHelden-Tag. The campaign day took place on the premises of the AEB in Stuttgart. This enabled me to establish direct contact to some of the young people who are supported by the foundation. When you see bright children's eyes – what more could you want?
The communications working group, which is made up of four people, focuses on providing information about the foundation: What is the purpose of the foundation? How and in which projects does it help? How can we gain further supporters? Who benefits from this commitment and how? Reports on results and progress, blog information, interviews, etc. In addition to writing texts for the website, this also includes printed materials. Otherwise, I am happy to help wherever there is a need.
It is important to me that disadvantaged people receive support. Even as a child, I always wanted to help and showed solidarity with those in need. In my opinion, education is the key to steering life into a different, better direction and is also crucial for tolerant engagement in everyday life. Access to education should be equally possible for all people.
Providing support in a tangible way and seeing first-hand how much good is being done through the foundation and how it is helping disadvantaged children and young people in particular – that's simply a wonderful feeling.
The biggest change is that I can and am allowed to be "closer to the action" with my support. To actually be actively involved and to be able to see and experience improvements (directly).
The regular contact with topics relating to disadvantaged children and young people or the people who are directly affected also shines the "light of reality" on the one or other dissatisfaction about my own life – and I am grateful for the opportunities I have had and still have.
I would like to see more attention, more awareness, and more supporters for the foundation in the future. I hope that it will be possible to set up more help projects and give many more children the opportunity for a better start in life.
