Heroes of digits

With their "Hope Houses", the Hoffnungsträger Foundation has created places where people with and without refugee experience as well as socially disadvantaged people live under one roof. This mixed living community promotes mutual exchange and togetherness and strengthens social integration.

This social context gave rise to the Zahlenhelden (heroes of digits) project – a vocational program run exclusively by volunteers. It is aimed at primary school children who need support in mathematics, come from disadvantaged families, and/or have a history of migration. Following a diagnostic process, the children receive individually tailored, playful support for their basic mathematical skills. The involvement of parents and continued learning support ensure a lasting effect.

The aim is to reach several hundred children. A large group of volunteers has already come together and will receive special training before the project begins.

Objective
Support

Children from disadvantaged families with or without a history of migration are given better educational opportunities through individualized math support.

We fully support the project. The costs primarily cover the training itself and the organization.
