Cooperation with the foundation Stay
One million people free themselves permanently from extreme poverty. This vision of the foundation Stay is known not only in the Stuttgart region, but throughout Germany. The program to combat poverty has received widespread recognition. We got to know the Stay foundation in spring 2021 through the Stuttgart foundations' network. Our overlap is Uganda, where we support IT (education) training and the Stay foundation implemented its poverty reduction program for the first time. Both foundations decided to work together in the field of education.
Together, a concept is being developed on how to improve education in Uganda in order to counteract poverty. It will be completed in 2022 and will cover the areas of parental involvement, teacher qualifications and the expansion of educational facilities. The concept will be integrated into the work of the Stay foundation, as education is undoubtedly an essential pillar of poverty reduction.
The AEB-Stiftung is funding the recruitment of an additional employee in Uganda, who will take the lead in developing the concept. This will enable the Stay Foundation to quickly integrate the "education" pillar into its poverty reduction program.
