Who I am. How I can help. And why I can actually write this.

One sentence about myself shall be enough of an introduction: A colorful mix of marketing, fancy web technologies, project management, and communication are my thing. At least that's my very personal view of things ;-)

I've been passionate about the foundation ever since I first heard about it: I still remember very clearly how Silke opened the slide with the communication working group and I immediately realized: I can do that. This motivates me. I can help.

Since then, I've been part of the communications working group and support the team in driving the website forward and linking the foundation with platforms that are valuable to it (FundraisingBox, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).

Solving "first world problems" must not be our greatest motivation in daily life

Nowadays, we often forget how insignificant our "first world problems" are: We spend hours comparing smartphones on the internet to buy the best model for us. We spend evenings discussing over beers, delicious food, and wine whether we will manage to go on holiday twice next year. Don't get me wrong: I also often find myself spending a lot of time solving these "problems".

But when you read about children who can't go to school because they have to help their parents get water in jugs from a distant well, you realize that education is not something that can be taken for granted in the world. But it should be. For this reason, I support the AEB-Stiftung to the best of my ability.

Being part of the foundation has changed my mindset

Looking back, I am very grateful to be part of the foundation. The biggest tangible change and realization in my everyday life: working at the foundation is not a role, not a hobby. It is an attitude that directs my mindset towards the really important problems in this world and drives me to tackle them together with a really great team so that more people can have access to education in the future.

What's your wish for the future of the foundation?

Full steam ahead – the foundations have been established. The first projects have been successfully implemented. Now it's full speed ahead. Being able to tackle upcoming challenges with full commitment and fun, to initiate and successfully implement our own projects: That's what I want for the foundation.
